Plant sale: I am pleased to report that the Coffee and Plant sale in the parish room last Saturday raised just over £110.00 My grateful thanks go to Sue and my husband David for providing the plants and the latter selling them; Wendy, Vicky, Maureen, Judy and Bobby for providing cakes and the latter 3 for helping in the kitchen. The Concert held by the friends of St Georges Church was very succesful. The entertainment by Duncan on the piano, Grace and Gary singing, turned out to be a wonderful musical evening. You could have heard a pin drop as Grace sang I dreamed a dream and Gary followed with Bring him home both songs from Les Miserables. The finger buffet was sumptuous and thanks were given to the ladies who provided it and the pudding which were delicious. The evening raised about £400. for funds. The interest from the funds held goes towards the fabric of the Church, at the moment the roof needs work, the government scheme to help Churches has to have match funding so a fair amount of money needs to be raised. The Friends would like more people to join their group which raises money for St George’s Church. You could contact Miss Pat Whatley if you are interested in joining the group her number is 01424 883069
