Friday 27 February: Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall, I have not been for the last two weeks as I have been away and once again I must thank my daughter Joanne for keeping the column going in my absence. I will certainly be there this week as I need to replenish stocks and possibly catch up with people; which of course anyone can do if they visit the market. Brede’s Short Mat Bowlers set up at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall, they would still welcome new members.

Saturday 28 February: Lent Lunches continued: 6th March at the Rectory Brede. 11 March at Udimore Community Hall.

Saturday 28 February: the Poetry & Prose evening takes place 7.00pm for 7.15pm in at Udimore Community Hall. It was so enjoyable last year that people are really looking forward to it this year. It is traditional to take along a piece of poetry, verse or whatever to read out. The evening will include a hot supper and costs £15.00 per person. Sunday 1 March: St David’s Day Hapus Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant to everyone. the Church Services are as follows: Father Anthony White conducts the Mass service at 9.00 am in St Theresa’s Catholic Church on the old Northiam Road, if you need to contact the Father his number is 01424 773125 8.00am Holy Communion will be celebrated at St Mary’s Udimore. St George’s Church Sung Eucharist starts at 9.30am and Father Martin can be reached on 01424 883408. Mrs C. Thacker will lead the service at the Methodist Church in Broad oak at 10.30am

Monday 2 March: Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club begins at 10.30am – 3.30pm. News, wordwheel, Darts and board games before lunch then the Entertainment is with JUDY, LARRY & IAN. please contact Maureen the Organiser for more information phone 01424 883282 or 07850 987130 She would be especially pleased to hear from you if you are phoning to join the group as it has many vacancies or if you wish to go along for the entertainment. Whist Players will meet in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm.

Uniformed groups - Please contact the respective leaders if you wish your child to join this term. The Guiding section meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall the Rainbows meet from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, the Brownies meet from 5pm – 6.30pm for girls 7-11 years old. You can also contact Hayley 07525168770 The Brede Scout sections are all held in the Scout Hut Stubbs Lane, Beavers welcome Boys and girls from 6 years old they meet from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. Cubs meet from 6.30 – 8.00pm there are also vacancies for children to join, the Contact is Colin Ward 01424 852413

Tuesday 3 March: Brede Painting for Pleasure group meet in Brede Village Hall at 9.30am. Messy Church is at 4pm in Udimore Community Hall and welcomes children with their parents, to play and eat tea with new friends and hear about Jesus.

At the Scout Hut in Stubbs Lane from 7pm – 9pm 1st Brede Scouts meet and it is for any young person 10½ or over the contact is Andy Bishop 07833065028 The Rainbow Trout has Bingo this evening; eyes down at 8.30pm.

Wednesday 4 March: Brede Mother’s Union at 2.30pm in the Parish Room Waterworks Lane Brede. John Gurney will give a talk about the Quakers. New Members are needed as well as wanted Please contact Ruth Gasson 01424 882631. Yoga Udimore Community Hall at 7pm

Thursday 5 March: Sally is in Brede Village Hall at 9.30am with Stretch and Tone.

Saturday 7 March: volunteer village clean up come and join in a Village clean up on Saturday March 7th 2015 . Meet in the Village Hall at 10am.If you are fed up seeing rubbish in the village do come and help.

High Vis jackets will be provided if you have a pick up stick please bring it along; also wear gloves to protect your hands. If by any chance it is snowing we will have to make another date. Lets hope it’s dry and bright.
