Non members are also welcome. Brede Friendly Circle have their first meeting of 2015 at 7.30pm and are beginning with a games evening. This group also welcomes visitors and new members. The group was set up well over 50 years ago by a nurse who used to have the ladies and their young babies in her house for a chat and a cup of tea and she also offered useful help. The group grew to big for her house so it moved to the WI hall (Brede Village Hall replaced it) and they also moved the time to 7.30pm so that the dad’s looked after the babies and young children so that mum could have a break. The group decided to meet once a month and have a guest speaker, this still happens today and the committee maps out a programme for the year ahead. So if you are a single lady, mum or wife who would like an evening off and would like to visit or join, go and meet the present ladies; why not ask your friend to go along for moral support and go and have some fun.
