Christmas in Brede: I sincerely hope that you all took advantage of the lovely Christmas entertainment in the village last week. The Red Lion was heaving with revellers, customers and many stalls on Wednesday and the Battle brass band played Carols. The Cranbrook band gave a stonking performance and I do not use that word lightly. Those who attended heard fantastic music from the brass band that has won many awards. Put a note in your new diary – they will be back on the 1st Thursday, which is the 3rd December 7.45pm in Brede Village Hall. St George’s Church was packed with every age group for the wonderful Christingle service. It was lovely to see the children’s smiling faces in the candlelight.
