Friday 31 October: Pilates is in Udimore Community Hall at 9am. Brede Farmers Market is crammed with fruit and vegetables, homemade cards, furniture and diary, fish and meat products it is open from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. The Wea Practical Gardening is in Udimore Community Hall, 11.15am – 1.15pm. Brede’s Short Mat Bowlers set up at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall. At the Rainbow Trout there is a Halloween Party with Fancy Dress and Live Music from 8pm

Saturday 1 November: the Giants of Brede will be open fro 10am –4pm at the bottom of Waterworks Lane Brede. The Village Dance is in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm for those who are light on their feet.

Sunday 2 November: Church Services: Father Anthony White conducts the Mass service at 9.00 am in St Theresa’s Catholic Church on the old Northiam Road, if you need to contact the Father his number is 01424 773125 St George’s Church begin their Family service is at 9.30am and Father Martin can be reached on 01424 883408. Reverend Peggy Heim will take this mornings service at the Broad oak Methodist Church which begins at 10.30am. St Mary’s Church Udimore hold their mornings worship at different times so please look at their Church notice board or in the Parish Magazine. Village Bonfire and Fireworks at the Rainbow Trout. Doors open from 5.30pm. Live Music, Fireworks by professional Pyrotechnics team, Make your own Guy Competition with the winner going on the bonfire, Food and Drinks outside. Entry fee applies

Monday 3 November: Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club: begins at 10.30am – 3.30pm. Please contact Maureen the Organiser for more information phone 01424 883282 or 07850 987120. Rainbows meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall, this afternoon from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, Brownies meet from 5pm – 6.30pm for girls 7-11 years old. Beavers are In the Scout Hut and welcome Boys and girls from 6 years old, they meet from 5.30pm to 6.30pm Cubs meet from 6.30 – 8.00pm. the latter group has vacancies for children to join, the Contact is Colin 01424 852413. Guides meet at Udimore Community Hall at 7.15pm. Contact Hayley as above. Whist: the player’s meet at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall.

Tuesday 4 November: Flu Vaccination Sessions are available in Northiam today and also on 11, 13 November with the final session 21 November. Pilates are in Udimore Community Hall today at 9am. In Brede Village Hall the Painting for Pleasure group meet at 9.30am. In the Rainbow Trout the Villagers Evening at the pub begins at 8.30pm with Roll over Bingo and a chance of winning the big cash prize. Messy Church is Udimore Community Hall at 4pm

Wednesday 5 November: Brede Mother’s Union are having a Branch meeting in the Rectory at 2.30pm anyone interested in joining them will be welcome. Yoga is in Udimore Community Hall at 7pm

Thursday 20 November: The VI O’clock Club presents The Cameo Opera an indoor Glynbourne at Brede Village Hall 7 for 7.30pm start tickets are £12 each. Have your 4 course picnic in the auditorium; there is a prize for the best dressed table; the latter can be any size. Tickets are available from Penny Dawson 01424 882263.

Christmas tree Festicval: This year’s Christmas Tree Festival will take place during the weekend 6th 7th 8th December 2014 in St. George’s Church, Brede. If you would like to submit a Christmas tree decorated using the theme of Christmas Round the World, please contact, Vicki at The Rectory 01424 883408 Should you feel daunted by the task of decorating a tree then why not make an evergreen wreath to decorate the pillars of the church. Once again the weekend will be extremely festive and full of fun and will open on Friday 5th December at 7.00pm with a Christmas Concert, which will include a performance by Mad Jacks Mummers and a contemporary Nativity by the students from Bexhill High, followed by carols. Tickets for this event, which include a drink and mince pie/ sausage roll, are £7.50 adult & £3 primary school children. These will be available from The Rectory or the Friday Farmers’ Market in Brede. Saturday December 7th the Festival will be open from 10am - 4pm. There will be an opportunity to purchase gifts from Christmas stalls and savour seasonal refreshments throughout the day. At 2.15 St. Nicholas will process through the village arriving at St. George’s Church for an hour of festive fun. Do come along and meet St. Nick and take part in the activities around the trees. Sunday 8 December the Festival will open after the Eucharist at 10.30am and finish with a Festive Tea after the 3pm Christingle Service.

Lights of Love: St Georges Bell Ringers will again have their Lights of Love Tree switched on outside the church during December and into the New Year. Should you wish to donate a light in memory of a loved one it will be possible to do so throughout the weekend or you contact Andrew Burchett on 01424 882727 Whatever the weather refreshments will be on sale each day and there will be plenty of opportunity to from purchase the stalls. Children’s Flower arranging: The children that turned up on Saturday 18 October enjoyed themselves and really did well. It was decided by them that they and the Adults accompanying them would like to do it again. Please put in your diary Saturday 13 December 1.30pm - 3.30pm in the Parish Room I will be holding a session for Children and adults to do something for Christmas. It is your choice whether it is a wreath, swag or an arrangement for the dining table, as it is personal choice please bring everything you need. Preferably evergreen greenery and silk flowers sprayed cones and such like depending on what you wish to do. The cost is £3.00 for adults and £1.50 for children this will cover tuition, refreshments and Hall costs. There will be a sales table with dishes, trays, floral foam etc. available. You will need to book as places are limited please phone me at the number above or email me if you are interested and if you need more information.
