Friday 2 May Pilates begin at 9am in Udimore Parish Hall. The Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall from 10am – noon selling a wonderful stock of produce and goods and offering refreshments.

Saturday 3 The Brede big Steam Giants are open today from 10am – 4pm in Waterworks Lane Brede entrance is usually free.

At 9.30am the Blackbrook Garden Centre’s talk today is about Herbs the cost is £2.00 and includes coffee.

The Village Dance is at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall, an evening of Ballroom and sequence dancing.

Sunday 4 May at 9.30am the Family Eucharist begins at St Georges Brede The Methodist Church has Deacon Jean Duckworth-Lloyd leading this mornings Worship at 10am. As the weather is brightening up lets hope the pitches for the cricketers are drying. This week our Brede Team is playing away at Burwash so good luck!.

Monday 5 May Bank Holiday so Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club will be closed for the day and the Uniformed groups are also closed. The Brede big Steam Giants are open again today from 10am – 4pm in Waterworks Lane Brede.

In Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm the Whist Players will still be meeting to enjoy each other’s company and have a game of cards.

Tuesday 6 April the Brede Painting for Pleasure group will use their talent to paint beautiful pictures at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall.

Pilates begins at 9am in Udimore Hall. Messy church is at 4pm also in Udimore Hall. The Rainbow Trout holds its Local Night this evening from 8pm. Sadly due to the children acting in other plays The Children of Eden has to be cancelled. They hope it can be rescheduled as soon as possible and apologise for any disappointment caused.

Wednesday 7 May Brede Mothers Union are having an outing to Hole Park Gardens leaving the village at 2pm.

Thursday 8 May Stretch and Tone with Sally at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall where you will be welcomed to her class. The Friendly Circle ladies meet at 7.30pm and this evening’s topic is the History of the Red Cross as told by Eileen Nicol visitors are always welcome.

Friday 9 May Pilates begin at 9am in Udimore Parish Hall. The weekly Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall is open from 10am –12pm. The Post Office services are in Broad Oak Stores from 11am – 1pm. Short Mat Bowls are in the Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm. WEA Gardening course continues in Udimore Hall at 10.30am.

An evening of Music with the WI Choir Peasmarsh Memorial Hall 7.30pm entry is £7.00 and will include refreshments. Proceeds go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity No. 1095197

Out of The ‘Blue’ a Charity music concert with piano, flute, oboe, French horn, organ pieces, Choirs and Soloists at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church Battle. Tickets are £ 10.00 and will include canapés and wine or soft drink, proceeds will be split between Dragonflies, Winston’d Wish and Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team.

Saturday 10 May the Charity Chernobyl Children Rye presents Bromley Youth Orchestra with Bromley Youth String Ensemble in a Spring Concert with works by Bach, Greig, Borodin and Nielsen. It will be held at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church Rye. Tickets are £10.00 and Students £5.00 available from 01797 214089 or on the door

Sunday 18 May The Rotary Club of Rye and Winchelsea are holding their 16th Annual Charity Walk. It will be along the banks of the River Rother to Camber, crossing Walland Marsh to East Gulldeford and Iden Lock. The return to Rye is along the Sussex Border Path. It starts at 9amto 10am from Phillips and Stubbs offices 47 – 49 Cinque Ports Street Rye TN31 7AN. To join in phone 07530770200 I hope they have a sunny day because Hastings Welsh Society are also having a walk in Brede High Woods.

Wednesday 28 May The Friends of St George’s are holing their AGM in the Church. They will be providing cheeses and wine afterwards. If you would like to be come a member please go along and speak to any members of the committee.

Saturday 31 May ‘Musical for a Summers Evening.’ Presented by Gary Marriott and Duncan Reid it will be in aid of St George’s Church Brede where it will also be held at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8.50 and include a finger buffet and a glass of wine. Tickets are available from Marion Firman 01424 751165
