Friday 11 April Pilates begin at 9am in Udimore Parish Hall. The weekly Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall from 10am – noon selling amongst other things Chocolate; ‘yum’ the Frenchman from Artisan Chocolate gave me a taster of the milk and champagne chocolate they were delicious. He told me that they offer workshops to individuals or groups of 10 in someone’s home or he talks to groups ie WI.’s to make a big box and a double layer box of chocolates to take home and have tuition costs £30.00 anyone interested in forming a group of 8 -10 people please contact me. If you are a group wishing to have a talk then contact mobile 07446300786 or speak with the gentleman at the market. Short Mat Bowls are also in the Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm.

Saturday 12 April your Help would be very appreciated at 9am to join with others to Spring Clean St George’s Church and Churchyard. If you could take your own brooms and dusters etc it would also be appreciated.

At 9.30am the Blackbrook Garden Centre’s talk today is about Rhododendrons and Azaleas The cost is £2.50 and includes a cup of coffee.

Winchelsea Singers Spring Concert at St. Thomas the Martyr Church at 7.30pm. Soloists Grace Constable-Soprano. Anne Whitman–Alto. Gary Marriott-Tenor. Michael White-Bass. Accompanied by Ivora Alexander-keyboard Tim Wilson-Oboe, Jonathan Bruce-Cello. Duncan Reid will be conducting the choir and orchestra for Vivaldi’s “Gloria”, works by Purcell and the premiere of a very moving Anthem to commemorate the 1st World War, written by Hermione Roff. Entrance is by a £10.00 Programme that is available at the door. A bar is also available. Your support for the local singers and musicians would be very appreciated.

Sunday 13 April at 9.30am the Family Eucharist begins at St Georges Brede. The Methodist Church holds it’s service at 10.30am and Mr David Hampson is the Preacher again this week.

Monday 14 April Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club begins at 10.30am with coffee, the morning news, games and a quiz then exercises with Zena. This evening the uniformed groups are closed for the Easter holidays.

In Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm the Whist Players card game begins.

Tuesday 15 April the Brede Painting for Pleasure group’s brushes will be busy once more at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall. Pilates begins at 9am in Udimore Hall. The Mobile Library, visits Oakhill Drive at 3pm and Reedswood Road at 3.50pm.

The Rainbow Trout holds it’s Local Night in the bar, this evening it is eyes down for Bingo at 8pm.

Wednesday 16 April Vitality community Choir is at 2pm in Udimore Hall. Yoga is at the same venue 7pm. Also at 7pm in Brede Village Hall the Annual Assembly for the Parish of Brede takes place. It is hoped as many of you as possible will take advantage of this meeting to find out what is available and going on in your community. Parish Councillors reports, the Hastoe Group – affordable housing, trading Standards, Rother Responders and Sussex Police. Refreshments will be available.

Thursday 17 April a busy day today. Stretch and Tone at 9.30am with Sally in Brede Village Hall. At the side of the Hall the Doctors Surgery is at midday. Back in the main Hall the local National Trust has one of it’s talks at 1.30pm. The Mobile Library visits Brede in the Village Hall car park at 1.25pm. Design with Flowers meet at 1.30pm (please note time change) until 3.30pm in the Parish Room in Waterworks Lane. They will be doing an Easter themed arrangement. Beginners are very welcome please phone me 01424 882037 or Sue 01424 882544 for more information. Next month we have Chris Avery coming to do a leaf manipulation demonstration. Visitors are welcome and the cost for them is £3.00.

Friday 18 April Good Friday; workshop in Udimore Parish Hall at midday. The weekly Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall is open from 10am –12pm. The Post Office services are in Broad Oak Stores from 11am – 1pm but could be closing soon as it is underused.

Mowtown Soul Express play live at the Rainbow Trout this evening at 8.30pm. The Easter Raffle will also be drawn.

Saturday 19 April Holy Saturday, please look in the cards delivered for all the services over the Easter week. Flowers in memory of a loved one – if you would like someone remembered this Easter then Sue Sturmey would be delighted to take your name and that of your loved one. Lilies are purchased and arranged around St George’s Church the cost is £2.50 per lily. Sue’s number is 01424 882544

BOB’s are running a competition to name the boat on the recreation ground. If you wish to have your picture in the paper write your suggested name and your name, address and phone number on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope with a 50p donation and send it to Ashville Udimore Road. If you wish to deliver it by hand the house is between the Bakery and School or you can send it to Elm Tree Cottage Rhia’s Glade which is behind the Bakery which by the way has lovely cakes and bread but also does different meats.
