The Horse Racing night raised over £400 for sick children, the organisers we were very pleased and thanked the Rainbow Trout for hosting the event and the people did the betting and took part in the little quiz. It was a most enjoyable evening.

Friday 14 March Brede Farmers weekly Market will be open from 10am to midday. This morning Richard Watson from Energise Sussex Coast will be there to answer any questions people may have about reducing their fuel bill. If you need to contact him in advance, he can be contacted on 01424 719619. He will also be present next Friday 21 March. There is more information on pages 33 and 34 in the Parish Magazine. Pilates is at 9am in Udimore Hall and the WEA gardening course is at 10.30am. Short Mat Bowls is at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall.

Saturday 15 March large screens in the Rainbow Trout will be showing Italy v England : 12.30pm, Wales v Scotland @ 2.45pm and France v Ireland @ 5pm so go and cheer on your favorite team, I am personally hoping Wales does better than last Sunday. I must though congratulate England for winning the Triple Crown. Black Brookes Garden Centre continues it’s Garden talks at 9.30am; the talk today is Pesticides, fungicides – which? where and when? and how to use them. The cost is £2.50 and includes coffee.

Sunday 16 March there will be a sung Eucharist at 9.30am in St Georges Brede and the Reverend Neville Barnett will preside over the service in the Methodist Church at 10.30am. The Parish Magazine for March has all St George’s services including weekdays if you require the information.

Monday 17 March As many people as possible are asked to support Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club’s very special Coffee Morning at Brede Village Hall at 10.30am. After Coffee at approximately 11am The Village is very privileged to have the dynamic duo Sue and Janet playing their guitars and their hammer dulcimer, the cost is £3.00 including refreshments. Amazing value! There will also be an option to stay for a two-course lunch, which is an extra £6.00, and for this you need to book in advance. All proceeds from this event will go to Brede Community Club; Maureen is hoping that this will be a huge success so please help her and the staff to make it a successful morning. At 7.30pm in the main Hall The Whist Players begin their game.

In the Scout Hut Beavers begin at 5.30pm to 6.30pm this is for 6 – 8 year olds telephone Catherine if you have a child that would like to start 01424 883585. Cubs meet from 6.30 – 8.00pm and is for 8 - 10½ year olds. Contact Colin 01424 862413 if you have a child in this age group that would like to join. If you are over 21 and would you like to be a Scout leader the group is still hoping people will come forward so that this section can restart. There are young people who would like to be Scouts. Tuesday 18 March Pilates will take place in Udimore Hall at 9am.The Brede Painting for Pleasure meet in Brede Village Hall at 9.30am.

Wednesday 19 March Vocality Choir will be stretching their vocal chords at Udimore Hall at 2pm. Same Hall at 7pm and the remaining parts of the body will be stretched in the yoga class.

Thursday 20 March more limbering up is on offer at Stretch and Tone with Sally at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall. The Doctors Surgery is at 12 noon at the back of the Hall and the National Trust talks continue in the Main hall at 1.30pm

Friday 21 March Usual weekly Farmers market in Brede Village Hall from 10am –12 noon. The Lent lunches continue, and today is at the Rectory 12noon – 1.30pm it is a social event to which everyone is welcome to attend. The meal will consist of soup, bread and cheese a donation will be very welcome however large or small. All funds go to the Brede & Udimore overseas projects that they support. Pilates is at 9am in Udimore Hall as is The WEA gardening course at 10.30am. Short Mat Bowls in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm. Future Events:

Saturday 5 April Table Sale – The Village Hall Committee is holding a pre-loved Children’s clothing and toy table sale. It is your chance to have a Spring clean and clear out all those unwanted things that have become clutter and will possibly earn you some extra cash.
