Friday 23 August Remember the Post Office services are open from 11am – 1.00pm in Broad Oak General Stores. The Farmers Market will be open from 10 - 12. Last week It was the final day for the founder and organiser Liz Stephens, A Brede Friendly Circle member; she was on their committee when she began the Friday Farmers Market with the Friendly Circle ladies doing the refreshments some 13 years ago and has continued to run it ever since. It has become one of the most successful Markets in East Sussex and apart from serving a wide variety of fresh food to its customers has also contributed some £15.00 to local charities. Everyone at the Market felt honoured to receive a visit from the Lord High Sheriff of East Sussex, Mr Graham Peters and his wife Sarah to mark the occasion and it surprised Liz as he thanked her for starting the Brede Farmers Market and for raising money for local charities. The future of the Market has been assured, as a small committee formed from the stallholders will now take care of the organisation and running of the Market.
