What a wonderful weekend we have just had, and not just weatherwise. Both the Red Lion in Brede and the Rainbow Trout in Broad Oak had live bands, both were brilliant and each had a large crowd listening. Saturdays Friends of Brede Church raised a whopping £295 those attending really enjoyed sitting in John Crooks lovely garden in the sunshine and the morning cheese scones with chutney were delicious as were the cream and jam. A big thank you to all who helped, gave things to sell etc and those who supported the event. Sunday had bands back in the Rainbow Trout and MT Vessel were very good, such a wealth of talent in our local area. I am encouraging you to attend the local events, they can be inexpensive and you will be involving yourselves in the local community; meeting other local people and in some cases helping to raise money for a good cause and hopefully have a really good time too. Sue Sturmey would like a few more flower arrangers for this year’s flower festival if any body feels they would like to do one but feels unsure there is lots of help available do call her on 01424 882544 she will be pleased to hear from you.
