Brede village voice - March 23

Brede & Udimore Luncheon Club meets again next week on Tuesday, March 27, at 12.30 pm in the Village Hall for their monthly lunch. New members are always welcome and for full details please contact the Secretary, Frances Parnham on 01424-882007. Brede Crafters have their next meeting in the Village Hall on Wednesday, March 28, at 2.00 pm

This is the last weekend for requesting dedications and making a donation towards providing the lilies and other flowers for St. George’s Church over the Easter period. Please send your contribution and the dedication to Mrs. Betty May (01424-882667) as soon as possible as the flowers have to be specially ordered in the next few days. The list of dedications will be on view in the Church over the Easter period.

Next year’s Subscriptions are now due for the Parish Magazine. If your copy is delivered by hand the cost is £3.00 and should be either given to your delivery person or sent to Mr. Peter Ridgeon.

A relatively new venture by the Church is the Messy Church which is aimed at bringing children and adults together in a fun-filled Christian community outside Sunday worship. It for all ages and an adult must bring a child or vice versa. Each meeting is themed, has a creative messy activity, sing-song and ends with a shared meal. Meetings take place at Udimore Community Hall on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 4.00 pm. The next date is Tuesday, April 3, and will be about Easter. Services at St. George’s Church during the coming week will be the Family Eucharist at 9.30 am on Sunday, March 25, a Sung Eucharist at 7.30 pm on Monday, March 26, and Quiet Prayer and Compline from 7.00 to 8.00 pm on Friday, March 30. Holy Communion will be on Wednesday, March 28, at 10.00 am and Saturday, 31, at 9.00 am..

Trinity Church continues at Broad Oak this Sunday, March 25, where the usual service at 10.30 am will be conducted by the Revd. Richard Dengate who will also administer Holy Communion..
