Brides on the beach in Bognor Regis

BOGNOR Regis was invaded by women dressed in beautiful white dresses.

The Brides on the Beach event which created quite a spectacle was organised by local photographer Paul Inskip.

He said: “Sometimes you have to celebrate the wacky and the fun while there is still a bit of summer sun left.

“And what better way to do that than get over 20 brides to take over the seaside town of Bognor Regis on a sunny September afternoon.”

When asked what they were doing by the amazed onlookers the answer was simple ‘they all wanted an excuse to get their dresses on again’.

The tour around the town saw the brides invading the railway station, queuing up outside the historic Picturedrome cinema, enjoying a coffee and bringing the high street and promenade to a standstill.

Finally the brides made in onto the beach, some barefoot some in pink wellies and some in the five inch heels they got married in.

After splashing about and having a lot of fun, Mr Inskip could not resist re-creating a Benny Hill moment as he ran away across the beach with the ladies in hot pursuit.
