Bright future aheadfor young Rye star

A 16 year old musician and singer from Rye has played at a top London venue.

Holly Fraser performed at the Jazz Cafe in Camden Town supporting Sandi Thom.

A year ago Holly was one of the winners of Battle Festival’s song-writing competition and enjoyed one to one tuition with Keane star Tim Rice-Oxley.

Since then she has released her first EP ‘A Million Things’ on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify and has been recording her first full album in Brighton this month.

She hopes to release the album next year.

Talented Holly has been playing the piano since she was seven, and also sings and play the guitar.

In March last year she reached the regional finals of the TeenStar Competition with a cover version of Matchbox Twenty’s Sleeping at the Wheel.

Earlier this year she reached the regional finals of the Future Music Songwriting Competition, in Brighton, where she sung her song Lonely Night.

Holly said: “I am trying to get as many performance opportunities as possible. For the last couple of years, I have been performing at events such as Tentertainment and Tractorfest.”

Holly’s musical influences include Her wide range of musical influences include Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas, Keane, Jason Mraz, Amy Macdonald, Sandi Thom, Kacey Musgraves, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Paul Simon and The Carpenters.

She can also be seen out and about busking.

Her four-track EP, recorded at River Studios in Southampton, is available to buy for £4 plus postage and packing.
