Brighton FC launch football events with college

It will give hundreds of local school children and students the chance to take part in a range of activities and fans the opportunity to win tickets to Brighton’s AMEX Stadium.

The Albion Rye Roadshow will see the club and its charitable arm link-up with Rye College to put on the activities. The initiative is being piloted in Rye.

The roadshow will kick-off with a special 6-aside football tournament for local primary schools on Wednesday March 6 with the club’s Young Seagulls team including club mascot ‘Gully’ leading other fun activities for children on the day.

Club and AITC staff will then deliver a number of coaching and eduation sessions with Rye College students the following day.

The sessions will include futsal, football-themed numeracy and literacy lessons and schools masterclasses where students will learn how to apply Apple-based technology to the their learning.

The two days will round off with a free fans’ forum event at The George Hotel in Rye where the club’s chief executive, Paul Barber, will be joined by first-team coach and former captain Charlie Oatway and a host of other former players for a panel discussion and question and answer session.

Fans who attend the event will get a free pie and pint and the chance to win free tickets to see the Albion play at the Amex. Other prizes will include free tours of the iconic stadium voted the world’s best new sporting venue at the 2012 International Stadiums Awards.
