Brighton named top hen party destination in Europe

Chillisauce, the UK’s biggest stag and hen do company, said the seaside city beats off stiff competition from the likes of London, Marbella and Barcelona.

And it said Brighton also makes the top ten list for stag groups in the UK - coming in eighth.

Cllr Alan Robins, chairman of the council’s economic development and culture committee, said: “It is always good news to have it confirmed - in this survey as in many others - what an enduring and popular destination the city is for all kinds of visitors. We want the visitor experience in Brighton and Hove to be the best it can be, and will always aim to get a good mix for our visitors and residents in what the city has to offer.”

After Brighton, the busiest UK cities for hen groups in 2017 include Liverpool and Bristol, with stag groups opting for Newcastle, Bournemouth and Cardiff as their top three UK destinations.

Thousands of hen groups are drawn to Brighton every year, and the top three activities for hen groups visiting the city are life drawing classes, clay pigeon shooting and spa treatments.

Selina Pridmore, head of product at Chillisauce, said: “The most popular hen locations are usually cosmopolitan, with great accommodation and nice bars. If there can be sun and sea as well, that’s usually a bonus. Brighton is such a popular destination here in the UK because in the summer, it can offer all of the above and more. Thousands of brides-to-be will be enjoying the bohemian city again in 2017, with the most popular activities including life drawing, clay pigeon shooting and indulging in a wide range of relaxing beauty treatments.”
