Brighton to Amsterdam - An Albion fundraising bike ride in aid of disability football


Albion in the Community (AITC) has run a European cycle challenge each year for the last three years – raising tens of thousands of pounds for the charity. Riders have previously cycled to Paris, twice, and Brussels.
This year riders will travel from the American Express Community Stadium to the Amsterdam Arena, home of Dutch football giants Ajax.

Hide AdOnce again the event being supported by American Express and all the money raised will help fund AITC’s award-winning disability football work and other projects throughout Sussex.
The charity is now the largest provider of disability football opportunities in the area and runs more than 30 regular sessions – attended by more than 150 people every month.
The Albion to Ajax Cycle Challenge departs on the evening of Thursday 15 June, with cyclists returning to the UK by plane on Sunday 18 June.
Registration is now open and the cost is just £299 per person.

Hide AdThe price includes transport, accommodation, meals, cycle jersey and full ride support.
The cycling will take place over two days and on day four of the trip riders will have the morning to explore Amsterdam before meeting for transfers back to the UK.
Emma Brockhurst, who is organising the ride for AITC, said: “Our annual European cycle challenge is one of our most-popular fundraising events and is always a lot of fun.
“There is always great camaraderie among the cyclists and as well as full support during the ride all our cyclists will be invited on a training rides and helped to prepare for the challenge.
