Britian's smallest museum at Midhurst is growing!

Tomorrow, (Friday, April 1), ‘Midhurst Museum Too’ opens its doors containing a timeline of Midhurst’s history and heritage from the Stone Age to the present century.

Collections by Noel Simpson, Dave and Tim Rudwick with contributions from other collectors and The Novium make for a fascinating journey through time.

Chairman of the Museum Association Peter Nightingale said: “We are delighted after nearly four and a half years and over 14,000 visits we are able to expand and set up a more permanent exhibition.

“It is with great thanks to our collectors and sponsors we are able to bring more interesting stories about Midhurst and the surrounding area and we hope many more people will visit.”

The existing museum continues with its monthly displays – April’s theme is ‘gardening’ featuring a Victorian cloche and a vintage lawn mower.

A discount voucher for Cockburn’s Tea Rooms will go to all who visit tomorrow.

Historian Dave Rudwick paid tribute to Peter and his wife Jill, museum team leaders, who came up with the new display cabinets.
