Bronte's success at Crufts

A YOUNG Houghton girl has tasted success in her first time at Crufts, when showing her long coated chihuahua, competing against adult handlers.

Bronte Byrne (11) only just missed out on first place in the ring with her 18-month-old dog Tyson's Paws of Gold, known at home as Roy.

She was thrilled to finish second in the yearling class for dogs aged between 12 and 24 months in the Birmingham final at Crufts, especially since she was competing against eight adult handlers.

Bronte had qualified for Crufts in late August 2008 at the Richmond Championship Show, Loseley Park, Guildford. She does all the show handling herself, and always has.
