Brush up for memorial

THE Newhaven war memorial got a scrub and brush-up in preparation for this weekend's Remembrance Sunday Services.

Royal British Legion members, the Mayor, Cllr Dennis Forsdike, and town clerk Ian Everest made sure the monument was in tip-top condition for the ceremony to remember fallen servicemen.

The annual Remembrance Day service will take place at St Michael's Church at 10am and will be followed by a parade to the memorial, in South Road.

Following the two-minute silence at 11am and the laying of wreaths, the parade will move on to the Canadian war memorial in South Way.
