Gemma -a floristry student at Plumpton College - had moved to Southwater Road in St Leonards and worked part-time in Dorothy Marchant's flower shop in Western Road, Bexhill.

She was a former pupil of St Richard's Catholic College.

This week principal Tony Campbell said: "It is very sad. Gemma Lee was a young lady who always had a smile on her face. She was very helpful to everyone around her, always caring for other people.

"The staff at St Richard's who were here at the same time as her are very upset by the way she has passed away. Our sympathies and condolences are with the family, and prayers have been said in the community for both Gemma and her family."

"We have very genuine feelings; she was a really, really nice girl."
