Buckswood holdsservice at historicchurch for Xmas

Historic All Saints Church at Hastings was packed when Guestling’s Buckswood School held its annual Carol Service.

Parents jetted in from all over the world to join the scholars for the spectacle which featured the traditional Buckswood Pipe and Drum band, nine lessons and carols, the Headmaster’s address and some excellent performances by the Music Department.

Vicki Ireland, from the school, said: “Over 1,000 people attended the service and were greeted with mulled wine and mince pies before finding their seats.

One parent commented “The Christmas family service was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of that service, I felt very much at home.

“This made me understand that Buckswood School, is not just a school, but a place to build families all over the world.”

Buckswood school has now broken up for the Christmas break.

To round off a very hectic festive season, pupils enjoyed attending three nights of Balls will be held with the theme ‘red with a bit of sparkle’.
