The workshop has been so successful that a second course is planned for Saturday, March 4, at the Apuldram Centre.

Bakers will have the opportunity to work in the charity’s fully-equipped commercial kitchen, learn new skills, watch demonstrations, knead and bake a selection of different breads.

Rachel Aslet-Clark, Apuldram’s general manager, said: “The charity is currently raising significant funds to redevelop its dilapidated farm buildings; this was our second cookery workshop and more are planned throughout the year. The charity is committed to reaching out to the local community to share our facilities, showcase our talents and diversify our traditional fundraising activities.”

Workshops cost £75 per person and include lunch and refreshment; call in at the Apuldram Centre’s onsite café or phone 01243 783370 to book.
