Budding entrepreneurs get seal of approval from TV Dragon

BUSINESS tycoons in the making have been given a thumbs-up from a TV dragon.

Peter Jones, from the BBC’s hit programme Dragons’ Den, has given a group of budding entrepreneurs from Felpham Community College his seal of approval.

The Year 12 business studies students are celebrating reaching the semi-finals of the Tycoon in Schools 2012 competition, run by the business heavyweight.

Between 4,000 and 5,000 schools entered their initial business plans, with the final 100 schools being personally selected by Mr Jones.

Felpham’s students are now hard at work, being given a business loan of £1,000 to put their business plan into action and maximise their profits.

With only a month to show their entrepreneurial skills, they plan to co-ordinate and promote the production and selling of a wide selection of professionally-printed canvases suitable for both home and business.

On November 21, the students will organise a spectacular promotional evening at Bailiffscourt, in Climping. Arranged as an art exhibition, the event will run from 6.30pm until 9.30pm. Details at www.xpose-fcc.co.uk

Tickets for the evening are available from the college’s reception, priced £5. All proceeds will go towards the group’s business profit and Chestnut Tree House.
