Budding Uckfield authors showcase talent

Roving reporters and budding authors showcased their talent at the annual book launch at Rocks Park School in Uckfield last week.

Staff, parents, and pupils gathered in the school hall for the event which was the culmination of the children’s hard work in putting together amazon adventure stories.

Year six pupils read their stories to the audience and some even dressed up as explorers for the occasion.

The school’s talented reporters Isabella Goodwin and Millie Thompson covered the event and sent in a report from the day to the Sussex Express.

The pupils’ report read: “Mrs Evans, deputy headteacher of Rocks Park School, welcomed everyone to this prestigious event, congratulating the pupils on how hard everyone had worked on their Amazon Adventure stories.

“The Book Launch was a huge success because the audiences (groups big or small) enjoyed listening to the amazing Amazon books, written by the pupils in Year Six, the culmination of their learning journey.

“To add to the occasion, some of the pupils dressed as explorers and refreshments were served.

“The atmosphere was magical.

“Thank you to everyone who attended and were such an appreciative audience.”
