Burglars hit Camber property

POLICE are appealing for Information to track down burglars who broke into a property at Camber last week.

The break-in took place at a building in Camber Road, between 6.30pm on Tuesday, 3 and 8.30am on Wednesday, 4 July.

An office and storage containers were broken in to and £50 cash, various power tools, walkie talkies, binoculars and cans of coca cola stolen.

As part of their enquiries, police would like to speak to a man who was seen offering to sell local people generators and tools on Wednesday, 27 June.

The man is described as white, aged 35-40, 5’ 8” of stocky build and with brown hair. He was wearing a chequered blue and white shirt and driving a gun metal grey BMW saloon vehicle.

Other body features of the suspect include a very round chubby face. He also had a very strong Irish accent.

PCSO Dan Bevan said: “It is thought that the offenders may have had special cutting equipment to break in to the shipping containers used for storage.

“We’d very much like to speak to the person described as he was seen very close to the property involved not long before the break in occurred. If you believe you know him please get in touch.”

Police are also investigating the theft of £200 from a van at Commanders Walk, Fairlight.
