Burwash

Panto: last week end saw the first three performances of Calamity Jane the Panto, by the Burwash Amateur Pantomime society. I was lucky enough to attend the first performance with my sister. I am delighted to say they had an almost full house. Did we enjoy it? Oh yes, it was hilarious. The cast were amazing, with pub landlord Kevin Parker as the Dame in 'her' very colourful dresses, Lorraine Tasker as the saucily clad bar owner, Kelly Anne Bray was The Milky Bar Kid, Geronimo was Craig Durrant, David Cowell as the ever hungry Chief Talking Bull, Clint Eastward was played by Bobby Lipscombe they were all amazing. Funniest for me was the Gay Mexican bandit played by David Axford, so ingenious and well portrayed. The younger members of the cast all did exceedingly well too and added dimension to the show. As always the costumes, scenery lighting and music were really good and with lots of audience participation you couldn't help but have fun. There are three more performances this weekend. Tonight at 8pm, tomorrow at 2.30 & 7.30pm. Tickets are available on line at www.ticketsource.co.uk/baps or from the Internet café today from 10am to 1pm.
