Music: Tonight is music night at the Pavilion in Burwash Common. Local talented musicians and singers will be there to entertain you. The fun begins at 8pm. Do go along and hear for yourself how much talent there is in our three villages. If you are one of those who enjoy music and song and would like the chance to do your thing in front of a live audience then do go along they will be delighted to give you the opportunity. The licenced bar will be open.

Model Railway: This weekend all model railway enthusiasts can go along and visit the exhibition that is being staged at Robertsbridge village hall. It will be open to the public on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 5pm each day. Entrance is £3.50 accompanied children free, with free parking and disabled access.

Bateman’s: This week being school half term week, Bateman’s is holding a ring Children’s Trail. The will be able to enjoy the outdoors with a trail around the garden, seeing it come to life. Or explore the estate freely following the tracks and hunting mini-beasts. Entrance is by normal admission plus £1.50. Also just for today an opportunity to Paint the Garden. with tutor Julie Long BA (Hons) Cert Ed. This will take place from 10am to 4pm Entrance is £45. Walk: The June walk for strollers will take place on Wednesday. This gentle walk will leave the Bear at 9am and take in some of the easier routes around the village. Ijon Jenner will be pleased to have your company as he leads the way. The walks are open for anyone who wishes to go along. Just turn up at the Bear car park and join them.

Whist: The June whist will also take place this week at the village hall on Thursday evening. These fun evenings are a great way to meet and make friends while enjoying a game of cards. All levels of ability are welcome to come along and join us. Entry is £3 each and includes 20 hands of cards and light refreshments. A raffle is also held and there are prizes for the highest and second highest man and lady and the lowest. For more information please call Shirley Viney 9n 01435 882497 or me on 882107. Next Weekend: On June 4, The Burwash Bake off will take place at St Bartholomew’s Church. Entry forms can be found in the Burwash Broadsheet and is open to all ages. With two categories. Best tasting cake and best decorated. The entry forms can be given in on the day. The best decorated must be done by the entrant and will be judged by the public. The best tasting will be by the judges and then auctioned off at 3.30pm. Visitors can go along from 2pm. Also next Saturday the long awaited jumble sale in aid of Tyler Russell’s new wheel chair. will take place. This is being held in the Pavilion at Swan Meadow from 3pm. There are an amazing amount of items for sale which have been sorted into sizes. Please do go along and support them.
