Music: Once again the Pavilion at Burwash Common will be alive with the sound of music and song tonight from 8pm. This monthly event is very enjoyable as local talented singers and musicians entertain. You are all very welcome to go along and enjoy there offerings. ~The licenced bar will be open.

Meeting: The Burwash branch of The Royal British Legion will be holding a meeting on Monday at 8pm in the Rose & Crown. You are all welcome to attend. Membership of the Royal British Legion is open to anyone who sympathises with the aims of the Legion, which is to support those injured or killed in conflict and their families. You don’t have to have been in any of the armed services to join. If you are interested and would like to know more please contact the secretary Fred Marshall on 01435 884298. or go along to the meeting.

Admiral Nurses: Many of you have very kindly help raise money for the Admiral Nurses over the past few years. With the money raised locally to fund Admiral Nurses in our community they are able to offer free one to one sessions for carers of people with dementia. This will take place at The Bear Inn on Tuesday where landlord Kevin Parker has kindly agreed to make available two private rooms for quiet uninterrupted meeting place. Do feel free to go along by booking one of the half hour sessions. Call Ruth Tomkins on 01435 882938.

Whist: The next monthly whist Drive will be held on Thursday evening at the Burwash village hall from 7.30pm. These fun evenings are a great way to enjoy a game of cards, make new friends and win prizes. Entry is £3 per person and includes 20 hands of cards and light refreshments. With prizes for the first and second highest scoring man and woman and the lowest scoring. We have a really enjoyable evening with friends from near and far. Sympathy: I have just been told that local gardener Brian Morris has died. Brian was a very quiet man with a great sense of humour. He was a wonderful gardener who was often seen around the village doing gardens for others in the old fashioned way, by hand, when he was done everything was so neat and tidy, not a leaf od blade of grass out of place.. He grew some of the most beautiful flowers and vegetables and won a great many awards at the horticultural shows. We send our love and thoughts to his family.
