Music: Local talented musicians and singers would be delighted to entertain you all at the Pavilion in Burwash Common tonight. They will sing and play different musical instruments as part of the monthly music night. Do go along. The licenced bar will be open. This is a great evening for relaxing with friends and family. The fun begins at 8pm.

Judging: The Burwash in Bloom judges will be wandering round the village tomorrow as they decide which of the entries deserves to take the best prizes. Good luck to all those who have entered, there are some really lovely hanging baskets and gardens along the high street.

Meeting: A Neighbourhood plan meeting will be held tomorrow morning at the Etchingham village hall. The meeting will be attended by Cllr John Barnes- Chair of East Sussex County Council, Cllr Mary Barnes -Rother district council for Ticehurst & Etchingham, Cllrs Eleanor Kirby-Green & Emily Rowlinson -Rother District Council for The Darwell Ward. The event will begin at 10.30am with coffee and the meeting will start at 11am. The meeting is about planning for the Dudwell and Rother Valley and the protection of the area of outstanding beauty. You are all welcome to go along and have a say. Attendance is free but it is hoped that those attending will join the group which costs £2.

Open Gardens: The Burwash Open Gardens takes place this Sunday from 2pm until 6pm. There are thirteen gardens open this time, some of them new to us, some of the small, but it is amazing what can be done in a small space. Each garden a reflection of the creativity and individuality of their owners. Entry is £5 per adult, children free. Only guide/hearing dogs are allowed in the gardens. Teas will be available at Mount house in the high Street where there will also be a number of craft stalls etc. All proceeds to the Burwash village hall replacement window funds.

Walk: the next walk for strollers will take place on Wednesday morning, leaving the Bear Car Park at 9am. This walk is a gentle stroll around the villages with like minded people. Ijon Jenner would be g lad of your company as he leads the way. Jon has been in the village all his life and knows his way round so he is the perfect guide. The walks usually end in time for lunch.

Whist: An invitation to anyone who enjoys a game of cards, make friends and have a natter and laugh. The next monthly whist drive will take place on Thursday evening at the Burwash Village hall from 7pm. Entry is £3 which includes 20 hands of cards and light refreshments. A raffle is also held. There are prizes for the Highest, second highest and lowest scoring man and lady. All proceeds go to the village hall.

Cricket: Seagulls over Burwash are organising another trip to the Sussex Cricket ground at Hove, on July 3. A coach will pick up en route and transport you to the ground, so no parking problems. Tickets cost £25 for an adult, £16 for children under 16, to include coach and entry to the ground. To book a place leave your details at the Post Office or call Tesky on 01580 860625.

Fete: Next Saturday The annual summer fete will be held at Oakdown. Other dates for your diary is Music in the garden at Batemans on Sunday July 5, the coffee morning at Bowzell, Garston Park on July 9.
