Bowls: Burwash short mat bowls club are nearing the end of the Wealden league season, just two matches left as I write this. The team will have played at home to Chiddingly last night and will play away to Horam Gunners on Tuesday. They have been busy with their club cup matches too. They played their mixed drawn pairs with Mary Chadburn & Keith Marden beating Alan green & Christine Norton by just 2 points Last Sunday the members played an all day tournament for the Memorial cup, to remember past members no longer with us. They all played five games each in round robins. The results were third Mary Taylor 30 points, second Keith Wood 31 and the winner was Barry Taylor with 36. A great day with a delicious lunch and much fun and laughter. If you think you would enjoy this great game why not come along one Monday evening and have ago, we look forward to welcoming you.

Quiz: The next monthly quiz evening help in the Pavilion in Burwash Common will tonight at 8pm. Teams of six players are invited to go along and enjoy the fun. Jumble: The Burwash Guides and Brownies are holding a jumble sale tomorrow in the Burwash village hall. All the usual stalls will be selling, jumble, good as new, books, toys, bric a brac, cakes and raffle. Refreshments will also be available. If you have items to donate to the stalls please call Jackie Ashdown 01435 882196 or leave in the foyer of the hall on Saturday Morning.

Walk: The March Parish footpath walk takes place on Monday morning. If you would like to join them they will leave from the Bear car park at 9am. Roger Cloke will be your guide and take you around the network of public footpaths that are so much a part of our three lovely villages. You will be back in time for lunch.

NSY: The members of the Burwash Not So Young club will meet on Thursday afternoon at the Burwash village hall. The members will be entertained by Janet Nuttall with A Vet for Forty Years. She will talk about the interesting life of a vet, the wonderful animals she has treated over the years The group will meet at 2.15pm and would be pleased to see new members and visitors. Tea will conclude the afternoon.

Lunch: There are still some places available for the special lunch being held on sunday 22 march to help raise money for the new windows needed for the village hall. The village hall committee are working really hard to raise the £10,000 plus that will be needed. By attending the lunch you will be helping too. The three course lunch with a choice of menu, is £18 per person with waitress service and coffee and mints to end the meal. Quiz: The postal quiz is still going, and more copies are available. This is being run to raise money for the Get Together Christmas lunch held each December for the senior members of our community by a group of hard working volunteers. The lunch is completely funded by fund raising and money taken in the raffle on the day. To get a copy please send £2 to Mary Taylor, 2 Holton Cottages, Burwash TN19 7HU with a stamped addressed envelope. the closing date is 30th April.

Meeting: The Burwash Common and Burwash Weald Residents association will be having their AGM on Monday evening in the Pavilion at Burwash Common, from 7.30pm. All residents are welcome to attend.
