The weekend begins with the annual Christmas tree Festival in St Bartholomews Church tonight at 7pm. This preview evening is £5 and includes mulled wine, mince pies a raffle and music. Tomorrow and Sunday the doors open at 10am with a produce stall, raffle and music tomorrow, free entry and closing at 4pm. On Sunday there will be a raffle and music and the event closes at 5pm when there will be an informal Carol concert. The trees will all be decorated by different groups including the classes of the Burwash Primary school. You are all welcome to go along.

Tonight an entertaining evening of Call My Bluff is being held in the Pavilion at Burwash Common, from 7.30pm This hilarious TV games show promises to be great fun with outlandish meanings for you to decipher. The licenced bar will be open.

The Burwash Flower Arrangement club invite you to their Christmas coffee morning tomorrow from 10am to 12 noon. it is being held at rover cottage in the High Street, by kind permission of Mary & Trevor Hayes. Entry is £1 to include coffee and mincepies, with a sales table gifts etc.

A Grand Christmas Bazaar is being held in the Burwash Village hall tomorrow afternoon from 2.15pm., by the Catholic Churches of Burwash & Heathfield. Lots of bargains a raffle & tombola. Entry is 50p.

Bingo is being played on Sunday afternoon at the Burwash Village hall, with plenty of seasonal prizes to be won. Entry is free, a book of 12 games giving 24 chances to win being £1 each. A raffle will also be held and special flyer games. The doors open at 2pm for eyes down at 2.30pm. All proceeds will go to help with the Christmas day lunch for those on their own. On Wednesday the annual Get Together Lunch for the senior members of our community is being held, thanks to the hard work and fund raising of a few generous minded people. It is being held at the Bear Motel from 12noon. if you are over 60 and would like an invite and live in Burwash, Burwash Weald or Burwash Common, please call Steve Mintram to discover if there are any spaces left at this much sort after meal. A raffle is always held and prizes are always appreciated.
