Tonight, Friday, is music night at the pavilion in Burwash Common. Local talented musicians and singers will entertain you with a wide variety of songs. The fun begins at 8pm, All are welcome to go along.the more people the more the fun. The licensed bar will be open.

The Burwash branch of Age Concern lunch club will meet on Monday at the Bear for their monthly meeting and lunch. anyone over 55 years of age can attend. You will receive a delicious choice of two course meal and coffee for £8 per person. a great way to make new friends and get out of the house for a couple of hours. The Burwash and district flower arrangement club will have their Christmas meeting on Monday afternoon. at 2.30pm, with a demonstration by Mrs Georgie Hall entitled Wishing on a Star. Non-members are very welcome to go along, entry is £4, to pick up new ideas for Christmas flower arranging. You will be able find out about next years meetings too. the club will also be making plans for their Christmas coffee morning on Saturday 8th December.

The Burwash branch of The Royal British Legion will have their Annual General Meeting on Monday evening at the Rose & Crown from 8 O’clock. You do not have to be a member to attend and all are welcome to go along for sandwiches and a drink at the bar.

Many of you will have noticed that work has begun on the children’s play area with the old equipment being taken out and preparations for the new to go in. This has only been made possible thanks to the hard work of those on the special fund raising committee, and the generous donations and support of the village. The children can look forward to some fun times in the years ahead. Well done to all those involved.

St Philip’s Churrch have produced their 2013 calendar with photographs of old Burwash Weald and Burwash Common. They are on sale now for £5 each and are available by filling in the forms found at the back of St Philip’s church, or copies are at shanks nursery and jarvis Butcher, Burwash.
