Congratulations - It’s Monday morning as i write this and have just had a wonderful phone chat with Barbara O’Neil at the newsagents. Having left the shop yesterday in good order little could she and her husband Tesky know what would go on in their absence. But when Tesky arrived at five this morning to do the papers he knew something was out of order. His first thoughts were that the front window had been smashed, so went up the outside of the building to have a look see. He was amazed to see this wonderful display that was a thank you and to celebrate their 25 years as our newsagents. A lovely painting done by Graham Sendall and bought by the villagers, with bubble comments from some of those who had contributed around it was in the window, they thought it was to be a display of the Monday quilters. On the counter he found champagne and glasses. Barbara said she was overwhelmed and was having trouble assessing this kindness. She said in the 25 years they have known everything that goes on in the village and this has to be the best kept secret ever. Congratulations to both Barbara and Tesky, it has been a pleasure having you here, your kindness and help has always been appreciated. I guess it is too much to hope for another 25 years!
