The Burwash Bonfire society invite you to their Bonfire & Firework display tomorrow evening(Saturday) at the Swan Meadow Playing fields, Burwash. from 7pm. There will be a fantastic firework display, music, BBQ, and the Climbing wall. Special guest is Charlie the Clown. Go along in Halloween fancy dress. The best outfits will win prizes. Admission is free, but donations would be very welcome. The society remind you to make sure your pets are safe before leaving home. There will be NO PARKING at the playing field or in Ham Lane. Do go along and have fun,and help keep these events going for all to enjoy.

The Guild of local stallholders are holding an Autumn Fair on Sunday at the Burwash village Hall from 12 noon until 4pm. Entry is free and there will be refreshments available. A wide variety of stalls proving customers a friendly welcome. high quality products at affordable prices. a charity tombola will also be run the profits going to the village hall new window fund. The Guild has been established to provide a network of small stallholders with the benefit of being part of a large organisation, run on a co-operative basis. The next monthly whist drive will be held next Thursday evening at the Burwash village hall. Players of all levels of ability are invited to join us for this fun friendly evening. Entry is £3 for twenty rounds of cards and light refreshments. A raffle is also held. There are prizes for the highest scoring man & lady, the second highest and the a booby prize for the lowest scoring. Last thursday evening, the Burwash short mat bowls club played their first league game of the season when they entertained last years league winners, Pevensey, at the village hall. As always the triple played first with Jan Trew, Mick Moore and Stephen Trew winning 18-15 and Angela Marden, Samantha Saunders and Shirley Pope winning 17-7. After a lively tea break the pairs played with Julie Hawkins & Keith Wood just winning 16-15 and Joan Howard 7 Mary Taylor taking their game 12-9. This gives the club 8 very valuable league points. They will next play away to Ringmer Tortoises on Thursday 8th November.
