Burwash village voice

Tonight is music night at the Pavilion in Burwash Common.

Local talented people will be there to entertain you from 8pm. singing and playing their different musical instruments. you are all welcome to go along and join in the fun. The licensed bar will be open. If you would like to take part either singing or playing just go a long on Friday and you will be given a warm welcome.

Tomorrow morning their will be a coffee morning in the Burwash Scout hut from 10am until 12.30pm, one of many around the country, in aid of MacMillan Nurses. Please go along and help support the World’s biggest coffee morning. Entrance is £1 to include refreshments. Donations of cakes and prizes etc, can be given to Heather Lewis, call her on 01435 882080, she will be pleased to hear from you.

Also tomorrow, St Philip’s church invite you to another of the very popular Harvest Hoedown. It is being held at Knowle Farm, Swife Lane, Broad Oak from 7.30pm to 11pm. Take your own food or barbecue will be available. There will be a licensed bar. Dancing to Doctor’s orders with instruction. Tickets are £8 for adults, family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) £20. available from The Pavilion, Shanks Nursery, The Wheel Inn or call Jane Lloyd on 01435 883264. And a great time will be had by all.

On Thursday there will be another fun & friendly whist drive at the Burwash village hall. Play starts at 7.30pm with 20 hands of cards. Entry is £3 and includes light refreshment. Burwash Horticultural society invite you to another of their interesting talks, this one is called ‘Autumn Colour’ with Mr Steven Moore. It is being held at the Burwash village hall on Thursday from 2pm for 2.30pm. Entrance is £1.50 for members and £2.50 for non-members. A raffle, tea & coffee will end the afternoon. There will also be plants sale. All are welcome to go along.

Burwash Short mat bowls club begin their assault on the wealden league division one on Tuesday when they play away to their old friends and rivals Five Ashes. The team came third last year after a fairly successful season. Good luck to all those involved in the new season. They have been pleased to welcome several new players since they returned from their summer break and look forward to including them in the team as time goes on.
