Burwash village voice

The monthly music night takes place tonight at the Pavilion in Burwash Common.

Talented local singers and musicians are hoping you will go along for 8pm start and listen to them, If you would like to join them and pllay or sing you would be very welcome. The licensed bar will be open.

The Annual summer fair will take place on monday afternoon at the swan meadow playing fields, just past the Rose & Crown pub. Stall holders will be busy all morning preparing, making sure that everything is ready to give visitors a great afternoon out. Lots to do, buy and see, from the usual raffles and tombolas, pony rides, children’s swing boats, and track train. Sumo wrestling competitions, cakes, books, plants. Plenty of choice for food and drinks throughout the afternoon as live music keeps us entertained. The fun begins at 1pm, with ample parking at the field and donation buckets for entry.

The Burwash Bonfire Society invite you to a fun general knowledge quiz on Wednesday evening at 8pm at the Rose & Crown pub. Tesms of six are invited to attend. For more details please call Mary Clarke on 01435 882918.

On September 8, The Historic churches trust(SHCT) is organising another of their Ride & Stride fund raising events, supporting churches in both East and west Sussex. The participants get sponsorshipe for the number of churches they will visit, be it on foot, bicycle or horse. The total proceeds are tehn divided equally between their church and SHCT. Anyone who would like to join them can get a sponsor form from the church or visit the website www.rideandstride.info or ring 01243 788265. Last year participants earned over £5,000 for St Bartholomews.
