Business Mums Conference

LOCAL award winning author and entrepreneur Antonia Chitty and two other successful business women are spearheading the Business Mums Conference 2010 to be held in Brighton on October 5.

Joining Bexhill based Antonia in the venture are Nicky Chisholm of Mums in Biz and The Mumpreneurs' Networking Club, Brighton, and Suzanne Borrell from Hove, who runs SMB Events, and is founder of the 'BabyExpo' baby shows.

The event is part of Business Mum Week and with around two hundred mums booked for the event, Antonia said it looks like it's going to be a great success:

"More and more mums are starting businesses, and 'back to school' is the time when mums get really focussed on business success. "

The conference, which will be held at the Thistle Hotel, has attracted mums both with businesses and those looking for ideas from Kent and Sussex down to Dorset and as far afield as Lancashire.

Nicky said: "We're running the Business Mums' Conference to help women get inspired, and learn skills to develop their business. They will meet other mums running their own businesses, plus those thinking and planning to start up."

Ladies attending will have the chance to hear from global businesswoman Annabel Karmel, network, enjoy coffee, cupcakes and a three course buffet lunch, and see the winners of the Business Mums Awards announced.

According to a recent BT survey, one mum in 10 wants to run her own business, and fifteen per cent of women have started their own business since having children.

Events organizer Suzanne Borrell said:

"This is going to be a fun and glamorous event, but with lots of practical applications for any mums who own a business."
