Lewes-based Ovesco has just secured its fifth project – 187 solar PV panels on three roofs at Chailey School generating 49kW peak.
East Sussex County Council and the school’s governing board have given their approval.
Following a tendering process Southern Solar has been selected as the contractor and Ovesco now needs to raise around £75,000 to compete the project before the end of the school’s summer holiday. The company must raise 50 per cent of the money by August 16 in order to meet this deadline and the remainder by August 31.
Ovesco will be applying for the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).
Details of the new share issue have been sent out to potential investors.
Ovesco is one of Britain’s first community-owned renewable energy providers, formed to help the community invest in localised zero-carbon energy generation.
