Busking day for Emily

Bosham’s Emily Parker is organising a Busking Cancer Day at the Musicroom in Portsmouth on April 15 from 11am-5.30pm.

The day will culminate that evening in Hot Ears, a showcase of local bands at The Kings Theatre, Southsea, also in aid of cancer.

The night will feature four bands, most with strong Chichester connections - Britonica, I Am Jack, Lulla Violet and The Phantom.

Emily said: “I have been working with the Chichester College media diploma students for a few weeks helping them put together this event for their festival module.

“During the day we are doing a Busk for Cancer at the Musicroom in Commercial Road.”

Performers will get the chance to perform for about ten minutes, depending on how many are taking part. Anyone wanting to take part should get in touch with Emily who will give them a specific time at which they will perform.

“Open to all, regardless of experience, ability, instrument, genre, age, gender, this is a fantastic and fun event, where you can help to raise awareness (and funds!) while having fun,” she said.

Anyone participating during the day will get half-price tickets for the music night at the Kings that evening. Tickets for the gig are £5. For more information, contact Emily on 02392 863792.
