Busy Bank Holiday weekend for Hastings firefighters

Firefighters in Hastings were kept busy throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

On Saturday (May 28) at around 4.40pm crews put out a bin that was alight in Darwell Close.

Sunday (May 29) saw the busiest day for firefighters.

Just after 9am crews were called to Hastings Pier over reports of a chip fryer on fire. But when they arrived the blaze was already out.

In the afternoon at around 3.25pm the aerial ladder platform was used to rescue an animal from the roof of a house in Meadows Close.

Watch manager Keith Morriz tweeted a couple of pictures of the rescue on the fire and rescue service’s Twitter account.
