Busy time for women at Bersted

North Bersted Village WI: At the start of the May meeting, Happy Birthday was sung to Peggy Jackson, Sheila Robertson and Val Sparkes. Beryl Howard was welcomed as a new member and will receive her official welcome in June.

The lunch club had enjoyed a meal at The Crown at Emsworth; the next one is booked for May 25 at the Coach and Horses at West Ashling.

The South Rife group social at Jubilee Community Centre on May 29 will be a fun afternoon which will include a cream tea.

The Bersted Festival on Sunday, July 13, will be a busy day, with the institute providing the refreshments, a cake stall and raffle.

Nine members accepted the invitation to attend Westergate's party on June 10.

The competition of a flower in a vase was won by Beryl Howard. Sylvia Endacott, the speaker for the June meeting, will talk on Aspects of Being a Local Historian.

Meetings are the second Thursday of the month at Jubilee Community Centre, Chalcraft Lane at 2.45pm. All are welcome.
