Butlin's on course for a record year

The holiday company yesterday revealed it expects to sell £200m of holidays this year. That is ten per cent up on 2011.

The £25m Wave Hotel and Apartments, opened on its Bognor resort last month, has already achieved more than £3m of bookings. Its 215 rooms and 29 self-catering apartments are full up for many breaks.

Mike Crowther, Butlin’s operations director, said: “Our £25m Wave hotel in Bognor is a prime example of how we are continuing to future-proof our resorts.”

It had a winning mix for families of self-catering apartments, stylish hotel rooms and fun hi-tech features, he said.
