Cake tops bill at MS Society summer fair

AROUND £400 was raised by the summer fair held by Hastings and Rother Multiple Sclerosis Society at St Mary Magdalene Church hall.

The event went “quite well” according to organiser Sylvia Perry, who thanked volunteers and members for their work towards making it a success.

She praised Julie Trimby and her helpers on the cake stall and said: “The cakes were amazing - they took my breath away. The cake stall was out of this world.”

She also thanked Sue Highwood and brother David for running the raffle and tombola, and Pat Sindon for her efforts, plus Doreen Bickford, and Edwina and Trevor Mitchell, Jane and Leon Tuppen, Cathy and Stuart Pemberton, and Pam Murray.

She also mentioned husband Brian, who helped by lifting and carrying boxes full of stuff, and said: “Without him I couldn’t have done it. He was my right hand man really. We did it between us.”
