Call is made to move 'badly positioned' roundabout

A MINI-roundabout at the southern end of Ashington village is set to be moved because drivers keep ignoring it and driving straight ahead.

The parish council has decided that in the interests of safety it should be in a more suitable location and is to urge the county authority to carry out the work.

The issue was discussed at last week's parish council meeting and clerk Karen Dare said: "There are serious concerns about this because there has already been one accident at the spot.

"The whole idea of the roundabout was to slow down traffic entering the village from the south."
