Calling landowners

A group of metal detectors are on the hunt for landowners who are willing to help them raise cash for charity.

The Manhood Research and Recovery Society are looking for land on which to hold club rallies and in exchange owners could find out more about the history of their land.

They could also earn some cash, which could be donated to the club's chosen charity, St Wilfrid's Hospice, or their own.

At the group's last meeting 11 new members joined, bringing the total to nearly 50. Membership is still available at 12 and 9 for under-15s.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at The Rushmere, Hillfield Road, Selsey at 7.30pm. The first Finds of the Month competition will be held and Sussex Finds Liaison Officer Laura Burnett will be judging. She will also give a talk on researching and recording.
