Camber

Trish Lock, 16 Pelwood Road

Last Sunday the weather was very good to the village of Camber as they held a children’s fun day, lots of fun and games to be enjoyed by everyone. Everything from bouncey castle to grab a duck.

Emma’s little dancers were so sweet. There was a good turn out of villagers and holiday makers. All the money that is raised will go to support the children’s clubs in the village, a big thank you to all that came along to help and share the day to make it great for everyone.

Church news In our diocese we have a new Bishop, Martin Warner, he is making extended visits to every parish in Chichester diocese over the next two years. We are part of a huge diocese, he will be in our area between September 29 and October 4. In Camber church they are arranging times with different church folk to show Martin that though they are part of the farthest flung parish they are alive and well and making a useful contribution to the community.

There was a very special service at St. Mary’s East Guldford last Sunday when Lei as an adult asked to be baptised. Though Lei attends Camber church quite regularly, she is actually from St Mary’s so in an unusual step Camber church joined St.Marys so that everyone in the two churches could be part of Lei big day. the BBQ following was impressive as Lei and her family enjoyed the company of member from both churches.

The services at St Thomas’s still continue every Sunday at 10-30 with parish communion, there will be a less formal service for the children on September 15. Visitor are always welcome.
