Camber village voice

I’ve had a request from Jempson’s in Peasmarsh to mention a change in the Friday bus timetable to their superstore in Peasmarsh.

It stops at the Post Office, but will stop anywhere it is safe to do so for you. It will now arrive at the PO at 1.58pm and leave Jempson’s at 3.30pm, they suggest that you arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes before the bus is due to leave.

Camber Country meets on Saturday evening at 8pm till 11.30 in the Memorial Hall. Sapphire will provide the entertainment. You can get more information from Pete 225 250, or Terry, 226 887.

This week end in the church there is a special service on Sunday at 6pm. This service is an opportunity for folk from different churches to get together to worship. It will be a songs of praise, led by Rev Richard. There are bring and share refreshments afterwards. There was a coffee morning planned for 21st in the Thomas Longley Hall, but unfortunately there is a clash in the bookings so it has had to be cancelled. Each week there is usually a Parish Communion at the church at 10.30am. Everyone is welcome.

Dan Bevan our Police Community Support Officer is always keen to hear your comments or concerns. You can ring him on 0779 6195 639, or email him, [email protected] if you need to leave him a message in his mobile and he’ll get back to you.

I haven’t been able to access the Parish Councils June report from Councillor Pat Brazier as I have been away in Georgia this last couple of weeks but you can see it in the Camber Community Newsletter for June. I was in Georgia by invitation, lecturing in Palliative Care.

Resulting from that teaching, I have been invited there again and also to Azerbaijan and India, I also go to Armenia twice a year. Preparing for these trips takes much time so I have decided that I need to let go of the Village Voice.Someone else is taking over nxt week. I’m sorry to have to do this as I have enjoyed writing the column each week and believe it makes a useful contribution to village life.
