Camber Country has Pure Country to entertain them on 21 April at 8 - 11.30pm in the Memorial Hall. The evening will be pure country all the way through and promises to be a great success. It costs £7.00 for members and £8 for non - members, you need to BYO but legendary rolls are available. More info is available from Pete, 225 250 or Terry 226 887. Speaking about the Memorial Hall, congratulations are in order for Terry. He applied for and won a grant for £5000.00 from the Wind Farm Foundation for the replacement of the central heating system in the hall. Really good news.

I met with Roma Fidgett, yes, you can smile, she is used to it, the sales manager of White Sands. It was interesting to hear about how White Sands is growing. The building phase of the development is moving towards completion, there are 40 homes to complete. There is a part exchange scheme in place to help people buy in the difficult economic climate. There are also 5 housing association homes. The development company, Ward Homes, has a new Managing Director who is keen to identify ways of supporting the local community. In the immediate they are aware that the signage advertising Whitesand needs attention as it contravenes local advertising standards. The matter is being addressed and more discrete signage being designed.

The services at the Parish Church continue each Sunday with the help of ministers from the area. So 10.30 each Sunday will see the regulars there as always. The church has its Annual Meeting on Thursday 26 April, if you are interested in how the church runs go along at 6.30pm in the Thomas Longley Hall.

It’s good to see the Rye Bay Cafe up and running again after a long time. We wish Jenny and Graham every success in their venture.
