A spokesman for pressure group Save Lewes Architecture told the Express that the looming decision day for the Magistrates’ Court site means people opposed to the scheme should attend the meeting.
Vic Ient said: “In a few days’ time, on Thursday morning, December 11, over in Midhurst the members of the National Park Planning Committee will decide on the future of this site.
“The director of planning has recommended approval - which he has done twice before - but members have rejected his recommendation and listened to the people of Lewes.
“Please join us and let’s fill the public gallery to show the strength of feeling in Lewes in the real hope that the members will keep their resolve.”
He urged them to go to the 10am meeting in Midhurst at the offices of the South Downs National Park, South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DH. If you need a lift call John on 01273 479479.
