A Battle resident is appealing for more information on what he says is an overgrown and neglected piece of land behind the Abbey Green area.
John Hill said: “The land behind Pilgrims Rest and the Abbey car park lane has been bought and sold repeatedly.
“It is weed-ridden and in a terrible state and no-one seems to know who owns it. One of the wooden gates there blew down six months ago and has been laying across the entrance ever since.
“Someone wanted to build a bungalow 25 years ago but it was refused.”
